Donated by Joseph Labovsky, a longtime employee of I. E. Du Pont de Namours & Co., beginning as a laboratory technical assistant to Dr. Wallace Carothers at the Experimental station in Wilmington. Labovsky retired from Du Pont in 1975 and has since lectured extensively on Wallace Carothers and the history of Nylon. This spool of Nylon ribbon was produced at the DuPont semi-works plant in Seaford, DE in 1938. |
