Description |
Wooden frame with glass plates on sides and top; glass on front is counterweighted and slides up and down; four adjustable brass feet on bottom; large brass knob on right side adjusts the balance arm; right side pane of glass is divided into two sections, both have a small brass knob that twists to open door; left side has on half a pane, top section has the dial mechanism mounted to it that drops weights onto the right side of the balance arm; a light source is mounted to back; inside of balance is very complex, the balance is divided into two sections, section one is the bottom and contains a light reflector,and the two balance supports and pans, pans each have a small air damper that is suspended from the balance arm; section two is the top half, once outside door is lifted there is another door that must be lifted in order to get to the mechanics, small aluminum Bunga beam with a scale in front, slidable lens with arm to drop weights extends across the top of the balance and there is a large viewer mounted to the top; the two sections are separated by two glass/metal plates; black rubber coated power cord is attached to back light source. |
