Description |
Cardboard box whose top opens upward and is connected to the box bottom via two black strings on each side (one is now detached); inside of box top has an orange cardboard insert with slits for the following: instruction manual, a white cardboard box of cover glasses, a black plastic Polaroid Junior viewer with a glass lens, a glass stir rod, a steel poking stick with wooden handle, a set of steel tongs, and a magnifying lens with a steel arm that can be attached to the microscope; the bottom of the box has three separate compartments; the left compartment has an orange plastic insert with the following: three white cardboard boxes of fish scales, a fly, and diatomaceous earth; three corked glass test-tubes of xylene (empty), thionine, and Oregon balsam; and a light source for the microscope; the light source is a steel rectanglular box with an empty side for the bulb and the green electrical cord coming out from the bottom; the middle compartment has the microscope, which has a black cast-iron support arm and base and a steel viewing tube; the right compartment has an orange cardboard insert with the following: another Polaroid viewing lens; a row of five glass slides; another poking stick; and a black metal cylindrical object with a silver metal screw clamp, possibly to secure the light source to the microscope. |
