Description |
Instrument is made of heavy bronze castings or machined brass; stand and prism housing are finished in black enamel; a circular mirror (to reflect an exterior light source?) on the base is supported by a metallic stand; main telescope device is supported by a black enamel-coated metal; the entire device can "pivot" from side to side; there is a "dial-like" handle which specifically moves the sample area and prisms in a pivot motion below the telescopes; the sample and prism area has metallic intakes for gases; above this area is a dial for the telescope magnification; there are two telescope on the top of the instrument that are connected via a black bronze rectangular frame. |
