Description |
Incorporates a galvanometer, battery, and standard cell, in a rectangular oak case; lid has only part of the original leather handle; lid secured with metal clasp and hinges; on the lower rear of the box is a hinged panel (screwed shut) allowing access to the battery; the interior features black finished face; instrument panel includes two black plastic rheostat knobs on the right for coarse or fine adjustment of the battery current; there are two switches along the bottom -- one is the galvanometer key and the other controls the standard cell; a dial on the lower left controls the voltage; there is also a stainless steel sliding voltage scale in the center of the panel controlled by a large black knob; on the upper left is a black emf gauge and two electrical connections covered in black plastic; and in the lower center is a stainless steel tag with manufacturing information. |
