Description |
Chicken Facing Cow, Goose, Pig, Duck drawn by Heinly byline William P. Drake (Charman and President, Pennwalt Corp.) Bottom left, in black ink, "Heinly" From CHEMTECH, 1977, vol. 7, number 6, inside back cover, "The Last Word" section. Titled "The modern little red hen". Beneath the cartoon is the text of Ronald Regan's 1976 radio broadcast reworking the children's story the Little Red Hen into a modern economic context. Unlike the original story where the hen gets to eat all the bread she baked by herself, here a government agent comes and demands the hen (a produtive worker) share her profits with the rest of the animals (the idle) because they are in a free enterprise system. |
