Provenance |
The A-60, introduced at the Pittcon Conference in 1961, was the first commercially available NMR Spectrometer. NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) is a type of spectroscopy that relies on radio-frequencies as opposed to light like other spectrometers. NMR was the base technology used in the development of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Consul was one of the first made by Varian. It was given to Stanford by Varian on the condition that Varian employees could come over and train on it. - Dr. David Lankin 3/2006 |
