Two thermometers mounted to a metal frame with a wooden handle attached to the frame by a chain. Maker name and place of origin is etched on metal frame. One thermometer (wet-bulb thermometer) has a cloth wick over its bulb, the other (dry-bulb thermometer) does not. |

Donor used the sling psychrometers in his research work at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago, and then continued to use them after he moved to Wright State. Donor stated "I inherited them from one of my colleagues at IIT." |
